Clearly, Richardson's path to the White House leads straight through Nevada:
"Nevada is going to be a critically important state because of its early caucus. I‘m going to campaign very hard, door to door. I‘m after voters, not big endorsements," he added.
Richardson pointed out that he‘s the only Democratic candidate who hails from the West.
Richardson said he‘s proud of his heritage but is not running as a Hispanic in a state that is nearly 23 percent Hispanic.
Richardson has home-field and regional appeal - but he's right, he will campaign hard to make Nevadan's understand his vision:
Richardson became the first Democrat to accept an invitation to appear in two candidate forums in the state. The first will be on Feb. 21st in Carson City and the second will be held March 24 in Las Vegas.
He also pledged to campaign in all 17 Nevada counties.
Richardson told more than 50 supporters in Reno that he knows he's an underdog. But he said he will outwork the other candidates.
Campaigning in all 17 counties? Already appearing at the first forums? Expect more awesomeness from Richardson out here. Can anyone imagine Nevadan's choosing a someone like Hillary over Richardson? That'd be hard to believe.
